"Those of us rooting for Christopher Hitchens in his contest with cancer are an open-minded multitude; we wish him the best, not just because we appreciate his great contributions in the past and his talent for giving delight, but because we need him for our future endeavors."

Something about Christopher

Mr. Hitchens, for so many of us, has been a light in the darkness of theism. As a younger man I found it confusing, and quite reprehensible, that I was forced to live in a world where mass delusion reigned, and to express any doubt meant that I would be easily marginalized as a crackpot or a man of low character. But Mr. Hitchens has always reminded us that our flight into independent thought need not be a solo one. I thank him. For me, I am always challenged by the intellectual capital Mr. Hitchens has amassed over a life experienced. And for those who spend their time in the pitch of faith, reading the same texts over a lifetime, I find it ironic that they feel the need to try to compel a deathbed conversion from Mr. Hitchens. I doubt very strongly that this man, who has spent his days absorbing and reflecting on all life has to offer, will decide, either by fear or for comfort, that he will cast away these hard-earned faculties to join them on the narrow, simple path of caveman mysticism. Here's hoping that no conversion attempt is necessary for many years.

Well, he's always willing to put his two cents in.
That low drone you are hearing is another irony-alert.
Nice little joke by FGFM. If all your digs at Hitchens were that clever, we wouldn't find you quite so ridiculous.
Decent has a comedic theory!
FFGM is tedious. Ban him.
"Decent has a comedic theory!"
FGMF is just a stupid boy don't worry about him too much I am even starting to like him.
Liberty, if it means anything, is the right to tell people what they don't want to hear.
Hah. What then is your definition of irony? You ban everyone who mildly dissents from your weird world-view, or hazards that being raised by a racist bully in impoverished circumstances does somewhat meet the criteria for being classed as "ill-bred".

Indeed. I'm a fan of Hitchens but appreciate the fact that, on a fan-site dedicated to him, there's a very vocal advocatus diaboli. Although I doubt it's your intention to, thank you for putting into practice Hitchen's ideas. Your service would be appreciated by Hitchens, I would think.
