At reddit a video tribute project has been launched.
Here's the plan:
1. Make a short video. Aim for about 1 min length, give or take. Say anything you like, keeping in mind the nature of the effort. The only thing we ask is:
2. Close your video by raising a glass. It has been pointed out that Johnny Walker Black is Hitchens' drink, but obviously use what you like.
3. Email your video to thehitchappreciation@gmail.com. Use any means you like to send the file, but YouSendIt and WeTransfer are recommended if your regular email doesn't cooperate. YouSendit.com has minimal registration requirements, and WeTransfer has a 2G capacity and no registration. Speaking of file submission specs:
4. Keep the file size as small as is reasonable for now. We don't know how many submissions we will ultimately get. Quicktime & mov have been offered as desirable submission formats, but obviously the editors will do their best to work with whatever you're able to turn in.

What is your problema? Many may not be in agreement with some of Christopher Hitchens' stands on issues but much can be learned from his writings and debates which are outstanding. Gezundheit Mr. Hitchens!
At no point have I ever seen any evidence of any of your charges (plagiarism?!?), nor have you given any reason for your hostility to the man. And so I pray for the opposite of your hopes: that Mr. Hitchens lives another few decades, if only to cross you further.
I pray for the opposite: that Mr. Hitchens may live for a few more decades, in good health and sound mind, if only to cross vitriolic individuals such as yourself.
Let's just say that not every person who comes across Mr Hitchens' point of view will realise with relief that his/her own opinion is finally in agreement by an established and celebrated thinker. It is not easy to convert a religiously raised person as religiosity is often deeply ingrained by repetitive reinforcement over a prolonged period of time. We can only hope with the wide availability of secular education our young generations will be encouraged to think and decide for themselves that (to quote Mr Douglas Adams) "I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day".
Gosh, I am so ridiculously (and pathetically) antsy as to this project. And, like a bride, I want to lose weight and get my hair and nails done before I actually do this. Geez. I would come off like such a total dweebie fangirl. Of course, that would be pretty accurate:(

Has a deadline been established for submissions yet? I really want to do a video; but I need to do errands for a few details, and figure out how to raise the volume on the audio on my cellphone's video camera (the only video camera I currently have access to, unfortunately). Anyway, if there is a deadline, please let us know, either here, the Facebook page, or both places. And I'll do the best I can at this end...

On topic, I will definitely be submitting an entry to this project. It's an excellent idea that all Hitchens' fans should rally behind.
