Christopher Hitchens (1949 - 2011) was an Anglo-American author and journalist. His books made him a prominent public intellectual and a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits. He was a columnist and literary critic at Vanity Fair, Slate, The Atlantic, World Affairs, The Nation, Free Inquiry and a variety of other media outlets. He was named one of the world's "Top 100 Public Intellectuals" by Foreign Policy and Britain's Prospect.

Good idea - maybe they can put this statue in Iraq somewhere prominent?
I think she couldn't help but feel hurt if it went up and was then purposefully damaged.

Let's always wait at least half a century after somebodies death before erecting a statue for them please. Persona-cult is a thing, and not a good one. If you want to remember Christopher Hitchens and pay tribute to his life, read his books and think for yourself.
