Another very moving interview. Christopher is being incredibly frank about death in these interviews, and, while I'm sure he's scared, he seems to be accepting the inevitable. I truly hope he takes this occasion to write a book about death and dying, to leave behind after he's gone.

I suggest "Heart of Hitchness: Exterminate the Brutes!" as a title.
Always admire this guy, but with Chomsky's rational views on iraq and American foreign policy. Isn't this guy delusional, not only to himself but all of his fans. I can't take anything he says about Iraq seriously, when you got Chomsky spelling out Saddam as Iraq's american puppet who disobeyed, and removed, to install another murderous monkey. Iraq polls enjoy the opportunity of free elections, but don't want the newly funded elections campaign puppet just like back home in the states. Is he blind to the obvious or stubborn to admit he was wrong!
Just because Chomsky says it, it doesn't make it so...
And, I agree with the earlier posters, an excellent interview. Although, I think that Mr. Hitchens comes off quite a bit more optimistic here - he again mentions his stout constitution, and suggests that potentially the only thing that will send him to an early grave is the inability to write.
I dunno, he seems tentatively optimistic to me.
I wonder when he'll find out if the chemo is actually working.
Christopher has had one hell of a ride. He has influenced thousands of people. He has dozens of friends and a family who love him dearly.
Which makes the comment from that sad sad Person FGFM look even more pathetic.
Hey, if it makes you feel better, go right ahead you poor, witless, worthless loveless bastard.
@Tyler "Just because Chomsky says it"
I didn't claim on the fact that Chomsky says it, its his rational, evidence based reasons, and parallel thinking with the views of Hitchen's which makes the hitch look delusional.
Can you tell me one plausible reason why we killed a million people for the massive lie the world has exposed it to be, without being crushed by Chomsky's reasoning, hitch himself excuses rather then defends the issue, leads us to accept this was u.s hegemony run by the filthy rich? This religious battle he faced has unknowingly created a irrational bias in his thinking to almost suggest an indoctrination of his own. that's what 10 years fighting irrational belief can to do a person. Its sad to go out like this. may he get better and clear his mind, especially now that he considers his views on life to be NO more then skeptical!
A million people? Citation please?
As for Hitchens, what he points out in his book Hitch-22 is that, unlike Chomsky, he had been to Iraq many times, as early as the 1970s, well before there was any question of a certainly poorly executed invasion.
Oh no what is wrong with you FGFM?
Citations or general consensus? is their a point in making accurate findings when dealing with numbers in this range? I'm only talking about iraq, it should be shameful to suggest we haven't bothered looking up the casualties of overall u.s foreign policy for the past 50 years. Could argue Hitlers a joke! but that would be delusional in the very same way...
Hitch agrees in this video, but makes the case of "freedom", but if you read Chomsky this is simply foreign policy over 50 years of history, how are we supposed to take this in? he gives us nothing to counter Chom!
Hitch made a few trips to American installed and Supported and Aided Saddam's reign! even after attack on our oil ally S.A before being crushed so to be granted to keep at it. whats your point? or are you making Chomsky's!
"Oh no what is wrong with you FGFM?"

Along with being an enthusiastic supporter of Saddam Hussein!

Hitch, you've lived a great life and always been true to your principles. You're an inspiration to all of us, except those pseudo-intellectual idiots like FML and the rest of that other useless website. Bravo.
FGFM is no idiot; he has earned "hundreds of thousands of dollars" over the course of his decades long gainful employment. I, for one, support an increase in the minimum wage. It's the only decent thing to do.

Thanks for your eloquence and insight at every turn. Please be strong in his physical battle. Your thoughts on paper and in interviews would be sorely missed.
