This was a great doc! Very different look at Hitch from 10 years ago!
One gets the impression that Christopher loves the word "fuck" just a tad too much.
Something of a bizarre documentary actually. Not really a through line...but more of a fan like film. Kudos for the access though! The gems might be in the cut and extra footage!
I will always love C Hitchens for defending the women who were raped and/or sexually abused by Bill Clinton. And it sickens me that the Clinton legacy is now being re-made in the media and in the minds of the American public. William "impeached-disbarred" Jefferson Clinton belongs on a sex offender's list, or in jail--not in a super delux sky box with Mick Jagger at the World Cup. And no, it wasn't "just" about a little blow job. Ask the women whose lives he almosty ruined.
Hi Tom, evidence over at Hitchwatch that the Hitch has been out and about recently, see latest post in the comments I think.
Regards.
Does anyone have his "Hells Angel" documentary about Mother Teresa?
I am pretty certain that he is having heart problems. I remember him mentioning high cholesterol at some point and (although this may be a bit of a stretch) Hitchens Watch has a recent picture post of him holding the left side of his chest. Add this to the fact that he is a lover of cigarettes and I believe the evidence is ample enough for reasonable speculation regarding an unhealthy heart.
Good doc. Hitch probably got away with saying Fuck at speaking events in public bookstores more times than anyone else in history. He has definitely cleaned up his act a bit over the last few years, which is not a good thing. I think the most jarring F-bomb came at the beginning among the elderly, bumpkin right wing Impeach Clinton crowd.
"You're a worthless Jerk"
"You're useless and you don't count."
I can't believe he reduced himself to spewing out such platitudes to deal with a second-rate heckler. He always had to be so macho. ("I'll take you out myself!")
Anyone know what the song playing at 8:10 is? Thanks
That girl at the beginning of Part Three is flirting with him so damn shamelessly. I mean, not that I wouldn't, given the opportunity, but sheesh, could she be more obvious??
Of course, I could be just jealous...meow!
