Tom,
I visit your site everyday. You're doing a fantastic job and deserve more praise!
Thanks so much,
Ben
Also, on behalf of all the anonymous, thanks a bunch.
Thanks Ben. Please, keep the praising to a minimum. Visits are appreciated.
When the 'plug' of religious thought is pulled, it is clear in the speech by Christopher Hitchens, that clarity of thought is fully achieved through pure 'human' thinking...perhaps, then one might toy with the 'idea of religion'; however, I can't see when we might find the time to 'toy'. Do you?
I love Hitchens as much as anyone, and I enjoy his performances in all these debates on religion.
But - does he seriously have nothing better to do? He's done dozens of these things. I'm starting to think that it's all for the money at this point, and that he's almost like a Jerry Falwell figure for atheists. Religion makes for great theatre, for or against, and he's one of its top performers. He's part of the religion racket, like an evangelist.
There are other issues, much harder to argue, probably much less fun to argue, that need a voice as talented as his. How about global warming? How about the Rebuplicans' open warfare on the middle class?
I do understand completely his interest in setting up his family as well as he can before his exit, but still.
