WHEN I WENT to interview Tony Blair, the newly elected leader of the opposition in the House of Commons, in 1994, I wanted to ask him about his membership in the Christian Socialist Movement, a very traditionalist affiliate of the British Labour Party. I had, I told him, by now read all his speeches since he had become leader, and could find no trace of any such commitment in his rhetoric. With the very disarming open-faced grin that so many people would later come to dislike, he replied that this was because he couldn’t stand the sort of politician who exploited religion for electoral purposes.

Hitchens has become Kissinger or some other snake very similar to Kissinger. Supporting both the neocons and Tony Blair...all of which are guilty of war crimes.

Dear Christopher, sorry you feel the way you do about the War in Iraq. It's a war that never even should have ever been considered. I agree with you on just about everything else, especially your hatred for religion.... But, the War in Iraq, and the consequent USELESS War in Afghanistan have been both a terrible waste of young soldiers lives & a HUGE waste of money and resources. Tony Blair's sucking up to Bush and becoming his enabler does not give him any Gravitas..... It just makes him an ASS KISSER & Bush's Lap Dog! Whoof!!!
