Christopher Hitchens (1949 - 2011) was an Anglo-American author and journalist. His books made him a prominent public intellectual and a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits. He was a columnist and literary critic at Vanity Fair, Slate, The Atlantic, World Affairs, The Nation, Free Inquiry and a variety of other media outlets. He was named one of the world's "Top 100 Public Intellectuals" by Foreign Policy and Britain's Prospect.

i guess basically the message of this discussion is "if you connected with hitchens based on any conservative stances he took then screw you you're not wanted". how heartwarming. the hitchens fan club is for liberals only, apparently. Then Salman Rushdie, a man whom I once respected, then proclaims that the man who stood up against liberal apathy toward islam extremism is "not the real hitch". What gives him the right to make that judgement? Very depressing.
Hitchen is facing the wrath of Allah's anger. He denied the existence of God eventhough he had no power over death.
In all of Hitchens' discussion and writing of an anti-religious nature. I can't understand why he so self identified with living 110% on such a wide variety of politics that tend to be psuedo-religious in nature of their existence.
